PRESS RELEASE: Jamie Ulmer honored by the Department of Defense for Patriotic Support

Ocala, Florida, May 23, 2022

Jamie Ulmer, Chief Executive Officer, of Heart of Florida Health Center and Major, U.S. Army Retired, was presented a Patriot Award on April 28, 2022, by Tim Lambert of DoD ESGR, in recognition of his extraordinary support of his employee, U.S. Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander Nicholas Dorsey, a physician at Heart of Florida Health Center. The prestigious Patriot Award was presented in a surprise formal ceremony in the lobby of the Health Center. Included was a Color Guard provided by the Ocala Army Recruiting Station plus a large gathering of the Board of Directors, Staff, local elected officials, family and friends.

  • “The Patriot Award was created by the Department of Defense to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the Citizen Warriors before them, have answered the Nation’s call to serve,” said Tim Lambert, ESGR State Vice-Chair for the North Florida Region.
  • Lieutenant Commander Dorsey said, “Jamie Ulmer is highly supportive of my military service and has made it quite clear that my being in the Navy Reserve is a positive thing for my career. When I was ordered to active duty with very short notice, Jamie gave me his total support even though it was an extremely busy time for our organization and my position particularly. When the Navy Reserve needed special medical training equipment to further the training of Navy Corpsman and maintain their readiness, Jamie offered organizational resources and equipment at no cost to the Navy to support our military medical mission. Jamie actively recruits Veterans and Reservists for employment with our organization. Jamie Ulmer is truly deserving of the Department of Defense Patriot Award.
