Ocala, FL, May 15, 2018 – Heart of Florida Health Center, (HFHC) received high marks from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), for demonstrating proficient compliance with program requirements of their recent Operational Site Visit (OSV).

Maria Colon, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is our newest provider. Maria’s impressive background and diverse experience allow her to choose the best therapeutic options for an individual’s needs. Maria is a Doctoral candidate at the Arizona State University in Behavioral Health Management with a focus on Integrated Care. Maria is also a Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida.

The Heart of Florida Health Center will have a new chief executive officer after Jan. 3. The agency’s board is hiring Jamie Ulmer to head the organization, which provides medical and dental care predominately to the poor.
Ulmer, who is currently the chief operating officer at Rural Health Services, Inc., in Aiken, South Carolina, will take the post left vacant by former CEO Rich Mutarelli.

SARAHI LARA was elected to the Heart of Florida Health Center Board of Directors in July of 2017. Sarahi has a degree in Healthcare Management and utilizes that background in her career working at a local hospital. Her children are seen at one of the HFHC locations and she is looking forward to serving on the Board as a consumer representative of the services provided. Sarahi has been warmly welcomed by the HFHC Board of Directors and looks forward to volunteering her time to serve the worthy mission of this health center.
