Hamzah Mughal, DO

Family/Adult Medicine

Born and raised in Central Florida, Dr. Hamzah Mughal completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Biomedical Physics. He spent two years of his undergraduate career in a wet-lab cancer immunotherapy research lab at Moffitt Cancer Center. He completed his medical school in the inaugural class of Nova Southeastern University Kiran Patel College of Medicine’s Clearwater campus. Dr. Mughal then pursued residency training in Family Medicine at the UCF-HCA Ocala Hospital GME Consortium from which he graduated in 2026. Alongside his training, Dr. Mughal was a regular urgent care doctor, providing acute care to patients with acute illness and injuries. Since his graduation, he has become board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and joined Heart of Florida Health Centers as an attending primary care physician. 

 

His special interests in medicine include patient education, primary care procedures, promoting medical/health literacy, primary continuity care, and hospital medicine. Dr. Mughal is also particularly interested in expanding the scope of his practice to include “point-of-care ultrasound” in his primary care and hospital medicine tools to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to his patients in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. Outside the practice, Dr. Mughal is an avid home cook, pizza chef, gamer, proud Muslim, husband and an even prouder father to three children.
