Heart of Florida Health Center Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Ocala, FL, November 17, 2022 – Heart of Florida Health Center, (HFHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Clay as Chief Executive Officer.  He will assume responsibilities on 6 February 2023 and will succeed Jamie Ulmer.  

He was employed with the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians for 8 years as Training and Development Specialist, Director of Information Technology and later as Executive Director of Pokagon Health Services, prior to his current CEO position.  His current FQHC has 11 centers with 325 staff members, 115,000 patient visits annually, and a $37MM budget.   

Matt is currently the CEO of Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc. in Onancock, Virginia.  He is originally from Michigan and received his Bachelor of Science Degree-Industrial Technology Education Degree and Master of Science- Education Technology Degree from Western Michigan University.

Matt and his wife Julia have five wonderful children.
